Dishwasher sticks in Wash mode

Hi. I’m a newbie to the APP Forum. If this issue has been previously discussed, I apologize, but would appreciate a lead to the relevant thread!

My DW has just begun to "stick" in Wash mode, running without interruption from the start of either of the two programs I’ve tried (Regular Wash and Quick Wash) until the count-down reaches 1, where it stays while the machine keeps running. On a couple of occasions when I’ve interrupted the cycle and opened the door to see what’s going on, and then restarted, the count-down restarts at a higher number than when it was stopped.

I at first suspected a drain system problem preventing the wash water from draining so that the rinse phase could start. However, inspection of the filters and the drain pump impeller found nothing. I subsequently found that pressing the two buttons for "Cancel Drain" successfully drained the DW, so the drain pump and associated plumbing appear to be OK.

I read a post suggesting that the refusal to enter the rinse phase might be inadequate heating, possibly caused by poor electrical connections at the DW. Agajn, nothing found!

I have not yet opened up the door panel to look for over-heated solder connections at the control unit, which apparently were a factor in a somewhat similar issue with other, different, Bosch DWs.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or leads that anyone can provide, especially if they result in correcting the problem with a simple repair or a $20 sensor, instead of a $311 control unit!

PS: Does this model DW have any self-diagnostic procedures that I could follow?
