Three days ago my wife told me our washer wouldn’t spin.
I played around with it a bit and learned that the wash and rinse cycles seem to work fine. The tub fills with water to the proper depth, the agitator works the way it should, and it seems to run properly during these cycles.
But at the end of the wash and rinse cycles everything seems to just "stop". Water does not drain out of the tub, and it never spins.
I never hear the drain pump come on, but I would expect to hear it come on at the end of the wash and rinse cycles until it has extracted most of the water from the tub. So it would seem that the pump is the problem, or perhaps the electrical connections to the pump. Does this make sense?
If not, what else might you suggest?
I would like to fix this machine myself. I’m generally very good with mechanical things but I seldom work on large appliances like this, so I’m hoping that some of the more experienced people in this forum might point me in the right direction.
