Dryer won’t start at all. I have replaced the door switch and the push to start switch. There is power getting to the start switch. What do I do next?
Check the thermal fuse.
Eric
Where is it located? Thanks!
On the blower housing. Take the back panel off for access. Looks like this. Unplug dryer, disconnect one wire from fuse, check continuity. Should read 0 (zero) ohms.
Thanks, 56! The fuse will probably arrive tomorrow, but in the meantime, I removed it and am using the dryer without fuse protection…just until tomorrow…
Bad idea. That’s a safety device and it blew for a reason.
Eric
I agree, Eric, but I took a risk anyway. I’d like to know why the fuse blew in the first place. Maybe a power surge? Do these type of fuses deteriorate over time? The new one arrived today, so I’m fuse protected again. Thanks for your help…
