My washer will not complete the cycle. After agitating it will not drain or spin. I looked under the machine after draining then hooked it back-up and it worked one time, but then I had the same problem it stops after agitating and will not spin or drain. Is it likely that the timer has gone bad? If it is the timer what is the best way to check it with an Omh Meter?

Is the motor trying to run in spin, or just dead?
I would say lid switch is bad, push down on the lid where the switch is… you can open cosole and check switch for continuity when closed…
bambiblaster, Thank You! After further disscuion with my wife I found-out that the wash machine was normal until about a month ago then it would go through all the cycles with the lid-up…even the drain and spin cycle. After about 3 more weeks then the spin and drain cycle would not complete and only the agaitate cycle and fill cycle would work. So this is more reason to believe the lid switch is bad. What do you think? Also when I took off the lid switch I may have gotten the 2 wires mixed-up. There is a purple and gray wire that conect into both ends of the switch. Can you tell me specifically which one goes to which end.

Sorry for slow response… gad ya got it going…
I had GE come out on a service call to see why my dishwasher was not draining. He went through some standard checks and came up with "I need to replace the dual pump". The price for the part and labor would come to $318.00. I asked him how hard to install the part myself, he said not so hard. So, that is what connected me to this site. Your price for the part was half of what GE was asking, Thank You. I hope that I will have an easy go on the installation when it arrives, will keep you posted. Any instructions you can add would be greatly appreciated.
