Hello All:
I’m completely new to all of this as this is my first washer/dryer. I purchased/just got delivered the Duet WED86HEBW0 Electric Dryer (along with the WFW94HE Washer) , and would like to change the vent on the dryer from the back to the right.
I’ve read some different posts one saying you need to remove the drum, and another saying you don’t. I’m of course looking for the one that you don’t. I was wondering if someone can talk about what I’m going to be up against when I take the back off the dryer and is it possible to reach in through the back and disconnect the exhaust from the blower, make up a new duct with an elbow, and re-connect (and of course how much of pain in the backside it is to do all of this).
It’s not critical I do this, but on a scale from 1-10 on handiness, I’m about a 7 or so and as long as I don’t have to disassemble the entire dryer, venting out the right side would allow me to fit a slop sink and have a 4 foot vent pipe to the outside which should be pretty efficient.
Thanks,
Joe S
