Whirlpool Electric Dryer No Heat

I Have A Whirlpool Electric Dryer That Works But Has No Heat. I Had A Part Replaced Last Year For The Same Problem But Do Not Remember The Name Of It Maybe Some Type Of Heat Switch… Can You Help Me Try To Figure Out What The Problem Is…

Take a look at this service manual and see if you can find it.

Well darn, cause that’s what I was going to suggest you do.

Have you gone through the troubleshooting techniques in the manual??

YES AND I THINK ITS THE HEATING ELEMENT. WHEN I TESTED IT I INPLUGGED 1 WIRE FROM IT AND GOT NO READING FROM THE METER. SO IM HOPING ITS THAT. I THING THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A READING FROM WHAT THE MANUAL SAYS… DO YOU KNOW IF THAT IS TRUE OR NOT.

If you are measuring resistance (ohms) you should get between 7 and 12 ohms reading on your meter. Make sure you have the meter set on the right scale, and if you are not getting that reading, you probably have a break in your element.

Replacing it should fix things nicely.

I changed the heating element and all was well. Now the belt snapped
, and the electric motor does not even turn on any more. Is there a senser some where so if the belt breaks the motor shuts down. I tried to check the manual you kindly sent me
, but it will not load any more. Can you resend it please…

Your machine has a broken belt switch which does not allow the machine to operate if the belt is, well, broken.

I clicked on the link and got the service manual, but here it is again if you are still having problems.
