1.5 year old Microwave Not Heating

My second bad Whirlpool/Whirlpool Gold appliance in 2 years  !! Anyways, Based on some of the older posts and an inspection of my microwave, I narrowed the problem (I think) to the door switch. In fact when looking at the two openings that the door latches into, only the bottom has a black "switch" for the latch to make contact with. I’m pretty sure I can see where the top opening once had a black switch but has since broken off. Outside of the missing black switch and the lack of "cooking", the light and control panel work fine. If I try to cook something the timer runs down as if it were cooking and the light goes off as it normally would when it finishes, but there is no fan sound and the turn table does not spin.
Based on the schematic of the microwave it looks like there are a few parts that might be the problem a latch board?? or a replacement switch?? Also I’m hoping that I can make the repair without having to remove the microwave (it’s in a custom wooden cabinet mounted above the oven). Thanks in advance for the help.

Anyone? Also does anyone know where to find the proprietary torx head tool to remove the bolts keeping the case cover on the microwave?

Does the torx screw have a pin in the center?? I am going to assume that you will have to remove it to make the repair. Door switch problems on micros are very common because we all tend to slam the doors on these things. The newer micros just wont handle the abuse as the old "built like tanks" ones will. Good luck!

I have an 11 year old GE Profile 30" Electric Convection Oven. It keeps perfect time and cooking functions can be set and begin correctly. Now, during the cooking or self cleaning cycle the oven shuts off and the control screen goes black. After 15 to 20 minutes the clock function starts flashing and can be reset to the correct time. This process repeats with each attempted use of the oven. Could this be a defective control panel, or something else?
Your insight is greatly appreciated.
