Really not sure how old the range is. I bought it used and when I got it home realized that the front right burner did not work. I replaced the receptacle and the burner and still nothing. So, I removed the back panel and traced all the wiring and everything was intact and none of the wires appeared burned or disconnected. So, I tested the infinite switch on the inoperable burner. Unfortunately, I do not have any sort of electrical testing devices; so, I tested it the old-fashioned way. I disconnected the burner wires from a working burner and attached them to the potentially non-working switch and the burner did not get warm. I then attached the non-working burner wires to a working switch and the burner got hot. So, by simple deduction I believe the switch is inoperable and needs replaced. Is my assumption correct and is there any potential for damage if I replace the switch if this is not the problem? Thanks for any help!
