Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to read my question.
I received my Kenmore microwave as a Christmas gift in 2006. My light has gone out of it inside. It’s a table-top model. I tried to figure out where the light bulb is to replace it but I could not figure it out so I called Sears. They said since I didn’t purchase a extended warranty that they can’t help me or either I pay over 100.00 for service. This is a microwave…a small microwave that it would be crazy to pay for a service call when I could get another microwave at probably the same cost.
I just want to replace a simple light bulb. Nothing in the manual talks about this at all. It’s a maintenance issue not something that should be covered under a warranty. Geez.
Is the only way I can replace is go thru Sears and pay an arm and a leg. I’d really rather do it myself. It’s not my fault they made it difficult for owners to do and want to charge. What a racket.
I looked on the back of the unit and evidently I’d need specail tools to remove casing. Why o why did Sears/Kenmore make a microwave where it’s a major issue to replace a simple bulb and why is the heck did it go out in just over a year? This is crazy.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
