I do not have any spark when I turn the knobs to the light position. (No sound and it will not light the gas.)
Sporadically, I hear a faint clicking sound when everything is turned off. This sound comes from the front left burner. If I turn any of the knobs on during the sound, there is still no ignition.
I can turn gas on and light the burners manually and they work.
I can feel the end of the ignition tip with my finger and feel a little shock.
I have cleaned all the tips and made sure all knobs are dry, as well. There has never been a spill or water on the range. I checked to make sure there was not a pinched wire, either.
My next move is to replace the spark module, but I want to make sure that is the is the problem.
The oven works fine.
Any help from someone with experience would be appreciated.
It was new in 1997 and this is the only problem I’ve ever had with it. It is the slide-in range, too, if that matters.
Thank you very much!
