Agitator Coupling Bolt snapped off in Drive Shaft

My washer had stopped agitating and upon investigation it looked like the agitator coupling was fairly stripped and there was plastic shavings as well. I orderd a new agitator coupling and in an attempt to get a head start before it arrived I was going to remove the older one. The hold down bolt was really stuck but I thought I had loosened it enough to start really turning. The bolt just snapped off in the drive shaft about 1/2 way down. What are my options now?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

A number of companies make tools that will allow you to reverse drill into the bolt had and anchor a devise for removing the bolt.

Make sure you use a lot of "rust buster" type stuff sprayed on the bolt.

Wish I had more options, but this can be problem that cannot be solved sometimes.

Good luck, hope this helps.
