Hi the dryer started acting up by taking multiple 1-hour cycles to dry small to medium sized loads of clothes or towels. It finally stopped heating altogether so we called the repairman.
He replaced the wire to the terminal block and nothing else. That night it dryed a comforter in one 1-hour cycle. Next day I did a load of jeans. It barely heated up. Had to unplug in middle of first cycle to have some sheetrock repair work done. I figured it would take three hours to finish them but after I plugged the dryer back in the jeans got hot and dryed on the first 1-hour cycle.
After the jeans, I dried a load of about 7 towels, with a dry towel added. It barely heated and took 3 1-hour cycles to dry completely.
Called the repairman back because the work’s under warranty and he came out, took a cursory look and said nothing was wrong with it. Said that because it was getting the full 240 volts it’s not broken. (That makes no sense to me but whatever) We plugged it back in and the load I just did dried hot as ever.
My question is if truly the terminal block and the heating element are okay is there any correlation to it getting really nice and hot each time it has been unplugged and plugged back in but then it’s a hit or miss situation inbetween?
Thanks for any advice you can give I’m stumped and irritated.
