auger not turning in washer

Hey guys first time poster here but ran across the site and it seems a neat place for info.

Since we have 4 kids and the wife does tons of laundry and cant afford the new front loader she wants gota keep fixing the old maytag.Last week she started a load before bed and we woke to 2 inches of water in the entire house.Took it in they replaced a seal and no more leaks now.

Now for a new issue the auger will not turn unless you hold it down into place when you let go it floats up and stops turning.I took it apart and seems like one of the plastic parts have broke or something. There is an inside piece that bolts to the drum and then the auger slides over it and I am assuming should snap and lock into place.I have located the part but just want to double check before I order to make sure this is what I need. Thanks in advance…Steve

Sounds like the auger (AP4024469) is broken. You probably even already know how to replace it.

yeah man simple 1 bolt job, just wanted to be sure befoe i ordered part.THX 4 the help.sorry bout type on cell

On one of my gas range top burners, the ignition sparker stays on; keeps sparking in the off position. What do I need to do to fix?

I have a similar problem. All 4 of my burners spark, even when none of them is turned on. They just start sparking spontaneously, and the only way to stop them is to unplug the stove. I took all the wires off of all 4 valve switches, and it still sparks. Please help!

I’ve got the same problem with the auger sliding up and not spinning. How did you fix it? Did you just replace the auger or did you replace the base that the auger fits on? Or both? Thanks.
