Bad coils?

New to this, but self educated enough to be dangerous. This gas dryer runs but no heat. Igniter cylcles on and off repeatedly, but never any fire. Dryer is 1.5 years old - just out of warranty. Checked continuity of thermal fuse, thermal cutoff, high limit thermostat - all good. Must be coils, so bought some at a local parts store. The trouble shooting paper I found inside the dryer gives resistance numbers for the coils, so I measured the new coils with an ohm meter and some are pretty far off. Terminals 1-2 should be 1365 ohm, measured 2000. Terminals 1-3 should be 560, measured 600. Terminals 4-5 (the 2 prong coil) should be 1220, measured 1500. The old coils that I took off have about these same readings. Could this be my problem? The replacement coils they sold me are part # ERDE382. Thanks in advance.

Oops. Apologies. Never mind those ohm readings on the coils, as I just realized I was measuring across the wrong terminals. I thought terminal 1 to terminal 2 was far out of whack, but actually its pretty close now that I realize which ones to measure. But now I took off the exhaust thermistor to measure its resistance. Repair paper says it should be 10,000 ohms, but I’m measuring 14,000. Could that cause the gas not to come on? Again, the dryer runs, iginiter cycles fine, but no gas/fire. Changed coils and it didn’t help. How about this thermistor thing? Please help…running out of ideas. Thanks

If the ignitor is glowing the thermistor is sending signals for heat. Something is wrong with the gas valve assembly itself. If you have the ignitor working and it kicks off AND you know the gas is turned on then i would say the regulator in the gas valve itself has gone bad. Does your home have old pipes? Is there a drip cap mounted on the gas pipe?
