No gas comes out of burner control gas valves when they are opened. But, fiddle around by opening and closing the valves, or just leave them open for a minute or so, and gas flows, and the burner controls work just fine. Turn off the controls for a few minutes, and the problem occurs again. What’s going on? How do I fix it? What part(s) needs service or replacement?
