banging in washer

Got a washer from my daughter. It was just recently moved from another state. It worked perfectly fine before the move. We put it in our house and the first time we used it it filled , washed and started to drain fine but about 10 seconds into the spin cycle it started to bang and knock uncontrollably. we tried it without clothes in it and it still did the same thing. We made sure it was leveled perfectly and that the clothes in it were not uneven around the inside and it still continued to bang. Finally we took the cabinet off of it and took a look inside and up underneath. all the springs were present. Tonight we had a friend come over who used to work on whirlpool washers and he showed us how much he could move the basket and tub around like it had no restriction. He said it’s like it was missing bolts or something but he couldn’t tell. He said there looked like there were four areas where there should have been bolts …the triangular bracket and another bracket of some sort that maybe should have been bolted together. Anyone have any clue or have any idea where we could see a schematic diagram of how this washer should be put together so we can compare our washer with it? Whirlpool, top loader, direct drive.

I would pull off the outer cover and check the triangular skateboard under the tub, it might not be sitting properly on the lower frame.

Are you sure the spring in the back is attached to the frame.

Found the problem!!! I did some more research today and found a website called applianceaid.com.They had a front view picture of what the suspension plate area should look like if it were sitting right and what it should not look like if it was sitting wrong. Well… apparently the movers must have laid the washer backward and carried it without putting the moving pins in it. The suspension plate was off 90 degrees…totally off from how it was suppose to be sitting. So my husband set something under the motor to lift it up and he turned that suspension plate around so everything was lined up correctly. Turned it on and put it on the spin cycle and TADA!! it did the trick! NOW! I can get some laundry done. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to do laundry  Thanks so much for replying with some help.
