Walked into my shop one day and noted that the bar fridge had melted its contents and i could hear a clicking noise.
Checked all wiring and all was intact.
Compressor starts, runs for about 5-6 seconds and then the overload switch clicks/sparks and the compressor shuts down.
Took the over load out and while holding it (really warm) it clicked back on .
I checked the relay across #5 and #6 terminals resulting in 9ohms.
Picked up another relay with the exception that the spade terminal was on the opposite side and tried it with no success. Its ohm reading was 5.4 ohms.
Compressor has an LG decal on it and the fridge was purchased at Home Depot.
Am i to assume that the compressor is toast or is there other checks i can do to eliminate it or confirm it?
Thank you…
