The temperature in the refrigerator will freeze foods even when on the lowest setting. Temperature on lowest setting reaches 27 degrees. Fresh food control knob has 1 thru 9 on knob. Is this the thermostat and is that the problem? My model # for the Kenmore refrigerator is 363.9520810. Thanks for your help. Rik

First thing you need to do is open the freezer door, and get down on your knees, and pull the food off of the bottom shelf, and look at the back wall and see if there is a frost build-up. Let me know. Do you have an ohm meter? Tom http://www.applianceeducator.com

I will look in the freezer section to inspect for frost and let you know. I do not have an ohm meter currently.

If there is frost on the back coil, m ost of the times it is the heaters. That is a GE Kenmore. It could be the timer, but 90% of the times it is the heater. Let me know. Tom http://www.applianceeducator.com/parts.htm
