Bosch Dryer does not work

I have had my bosch dryer for just over a year (warranty not applicable) and for the past 3 weeks the dryer turns off with out finishing the cycle and I get an error message E0:1 and the lint filter light starts blinking. I have cleaned out the filter several times and nothing works. It has gotten so bad that I can not dry my clothes and it all smells. Any help would be appreciated.

First poster had it right. It’s in the duct work and probably outside where the duct work exits.

The trap door on the dryer vent may be full of lint and not letting the hot air pass. This might be esp true if the vent has a rodent barrier. The lint has collected on the barrier and is blocking the airflow.

Check the outside vent.

Check you venting system all thru the dryer, it may have a blockage, causing it to shut down and smell.

After much frustration over the constant Lint Filter Error that stops the drying cycle before it’s done, and having the technicians come out and tell me it’s a common problem, clean out my filter (like I didn’t try that before) and leave without fixing it, I took matters into my own hands.

It’s a simple fix. Have you ever noticed that they have provided the worlds smallest filter mesh. I don’t know how anything could ever get through that thing including air. FIND A THUMB TACK AND POKE HOLES IN YOUR FILTER ABOUT EVERY CENTIMETER. SHOULD BE ABOUT 200 HOLES TOTAL. NOW AIR GETS THROUGH AND DOES NOT TRIGGER THE SENSOR. PROBLEM SOLVED.

Poke Holes In The Lint Filter With A Thumb Tack. It’s Not The Duct Work.

Poke Holes In The Lint Filter With A Thumb Tack. About 200 Will Do. It Fixed My Problems After Months Of Failed Attempts To Fix.

If the lint light is coming on without an error code it’s not due to the lint screen being blocked up. The most common cause of this is the door switch opening up when after the dryer heats up. When this happens the unit feels the door has opened and turns on the lock light as a reminder to clean the lint screen. You may not believe me, so you can test this by starting your dryer then opening the door. You’ll notice that the lint light will come on.

A clogged lint screen will cause the E:01 code along with the lint light.

Hello,

In the scenario above, what would be the solution for the problem? How do you fix it? Thank you!

Just had mine repaired…easy fix. I got the tech to tell me what he did.
He reset the computer on the dryer.
Unplug for 10 sec
Plug in for 2-3 sec
Unplug for 10 sec
Plug back in and the computer is reset.
He said that if you open the door while the unit is running then it will throw off everything. Made sense since I had done that several times.
Good luck.
Working and it only cost me $100 which I gladly pass on to you!

Thank you very much for sharing this solution. A couple of clarifications:

Was your dryer getting the "E0:1" error or would it just not finish the cycle with "lint filter" light blinking?

The unplug-plug-unplug solution… is it done with the cycle selector off?

Thanks again!

My wife has a Bosch Premium dryer that had drying problems. The lint filter would get cleaned but the machine still did not operate correctly, as you explained above. Her machine was made in 2005 and the lint screen, the plastic slotted unit in front of the lint filter was the problem. It gets clogged up with hair/lint that never makes it to the filter. I tried a shop vac to vacuum it but the problem was still there. Get a pistol cleaning kit for a 22 cal gun. Pull the lint filter out & then take the pistol rod and insert it from the drum side into each slot and pull out the tons of lint. Pull the lint off the rod when done and take a flame to burn the rest off as the rod is a brass brush with small wires on it.

Ok, I had the same issues. THe repair man first reset the dryer, that did not work. He finally came back and replace the following parts. For free which leads me to believe this is a defect since my dryer is 5 years old and out of warranty.

436435 PC board

Machine is running perfect now. Like I said I think this has been a defect that they just are not doing a recall.

You may want to call the 800number and ask if this is covered.

When I keep the grill in front of the filter clean there is no problem with the machine. It is a design issue and would require the entire internal guts to be redesigned and installed.

I don’t think so. Mine just had issues regardless of how clean the lint screen was. Now with the replaced parts it works great and I love my dryer again.

Yes, E01 error, see parts list in this thread.

Also, dryer sheets tend to clog the lint filter. Clean with soap and water and dry. That also helped.

Six months ago, I had the same problem, and the maintenance guy did the same thing. I believe you are right that this is a minor disadvantage.
