Bosch Error "F"

Came home from work one day and a strange smell was comming from the washer, burnt something, opened it and it was like it was running dry
Opened then closed door only to give error "F"

Now when I try to push the cleaning duration or cycle selections only one works.
Any ideas where to start?

PS This forum is GREAT !!!

Thx

Tough one I gather, I called a local tech he suggested the "F" stood for fill error, makes sense, he also suggested it may be a stuck valve that regulates water control.

Does anyone know where I can down load the maintenance manual for this model?
I have the installation manual but its not all that helpful

Thanks once again

Keeper,

To find a manual for any Bosch products is a real headache.

In your situation looks like the problem is a bad (or clogged) water inlet valve. You can easy access it by removing the bottom panel.

  • The part number for the water inlet valve is AP3783031

Gene.

Wow Carson you are correct, it goes DEEP…
I get into the point you directed and enter model number and get
ERROR
No user manual was found for the given E-Number. Entering an incomplete E-Number may ease the search. Please accept the possibility that the user manual for the E-Number (appliance) you entered is not yet available for download

The model is 6 years old… I now have the inlet valve off, is there any way I can test this to confirm I need a new one?
You have been a huge help, I thank you again

The valve is 110v activated so I don’t know if you have something to do this with. If you have a cord with exposed ends you can apply 110V direct to the valve and it should open the coil and give you water.

I think on the Bosch site you got off the course and tried to get a use and care manual - not many are loaded to the web. This wouldn’t help for what you need.

I would check this but looking into you model and the fault described I think you have a control issues, your model has the Part Number: AP2802870 (Bosch 266746 control) and this control has a bad habit of burning out a heating circuit and the result is either really long cycle as there is no heating or only the last wash cycle used.

Great help !!
I will have this inlet valve checked out, given the history of these going bad is it to the point one should buy a new now?
I mean one main board at $125 isnt that bad but how badly are they known to be frying these things?

Thanks again

There is no real good answer to that one, but from what i’ve seen the orginal production controls were lasting 5-6 years dependant on usage. I think the replacement controls have fixed/improved the problem so you should be good for sometime to come with the replacement.

UPDATE PLEASE help !!!

I installed the NEW INlet Valve and ran through a regular cycle

NO water is comming in??!!??
I double checked water source before I hooked it all back up, water does work, Is it possible or can any one please confrim the wire hok up for me?

I have THREE wires one Purple and one Green/yellow and the other white

the white I have on the side of the inlet valve in what looks like a ground

My tech told me the other two are reversable and should not matter

with a new inlet valve AND main board what else could it be???
Please help

WOW thanks for the hundreds of replies !!!

I had my wires crossed

BUt seriously how many of you out there knew that?

Thanks again, at least it was only 110
