i get code 4 when i run diagnostic.i know this is fill code.i changed the
water inlet system
the water level switch housing
water valve assembly
and now just changed the control module.it still won`t run a cycle thru.the old module showed 2 hrs on all cycles except rinse and hold and that gets stuck at 8 min.the new module shows all the different cycle time but it only counts down a minute or 2,then the water level assembly then just constantly opens and closes.the plunger just goes up and down every couple of seconds just cycling water in and out.what else can it be?thanks for any help

Hi Prop,

I have the same model and same issue you had–water keeps filling until the float switch trips, and then the machine goes into a 2-second fill-drain cycle. I replaced the control module and still get a Code 4. The water level sensor is working OK and its switch checks out, both at the switch and up at the control module. I checked all the control module wiring harness ohm readings per the troubleshooting manual–all are OK.

I could do what you did and change out the water inlet valve and the water level sensor assembly, but they check out fine and I suspect I would end up in the same corner you did.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was with your Bosch SHU5315?

I managed to stump a Bosch technician at the local appliance shop with this problem. The only possibility would seem to be a faulty module, but the chances of that are pretty slim. The code 4 is coming on as soon as the test program is run, before the water is even close to closing the water level switch. The switch is good, and even when I bridge the contacts the water keeps filling with power going to the water inlet valve.

I could have a chance at figuring it out if I had the wiring schematic. Apparently even the tech manual does not have the full schematic.

Some of the buttons on the key pad don’t work. t
The clear/off button and some of the numbers don’t work. What can I do?

Check the ribbon cable to make sure it’s plugged in correctly and making a good connection. You may need to replace the keypad.
