I have a Bosch SHX46B05 Dishwasher that has the pump stuck in the drain cycle. Even when the door is open. Resetting the cycle (drain/cancel) does nothing. The only thing still working is the power switch.
I have cleaned the stainless mesh cup, removed the grill and cleaned out the area around the impeller and check that it is draining properly. After turning the power off I removed the unit and placed it on its side to check for water in the basin - NO.
Before I aimlessly start disassembling this unit I would like some direction and to see if anyone else has had this issue with this model.

PROBLEM FIXED! (for now)
I am still not certain how I fixed this problem, however I did more research on the issue (rephrasing the search term!) and found this link below to the same issue.
There was no water in the basin, just a cricket, but the float was in the down position. I cycled the float switch and it started working fine!? Apparently it is designed to pump water out regardless if the door is open or not to prevent flooding.
I am not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but maybe there is a 5 year timer built-in?
Today I learned more about dishwashers than I ever wanted to know. And my wife is happy to boot. Now I need to get back to work.
