The outside handle moves up and down but is not opening the door. I was wondering if the handle actuator is what is broken before I order the part. Also, the dishwasher appears to not be receiving power. None of the buttons are lighting up. I was wondering if this is related to the handle being broken. The dishwasher is only a year and a half old. Thanks Dan

Yes, they are probably related.
The handle/latch assembly closes 2 switches which kill power to the unit.
You will have to open the door up to see which parts need replacing.
