broken spring on detergent holder

I’m actually not sure how old this machine is since it was in the house when we moved in. The spring that closes/opens the detergent holder is missing. Can I replace the spring or the holder and is it difficult to do?

The timer lever spring (#837 on the diagram) goes between the timer lever (#861) and a small plastic pin on the escutcheon (on the left side of the timer). This pin very often breaks off and the whole escutcheon has to be replaced in such situation.

You have to determine which parts are missing or broken in your dishwasher. You can refer to numbers on the diagram.

Thank you for the information. Should I remove the entire inside front panel to see what is broken/missing. All I can tell is that the lid on the detergent won’t close. Are their instructions for this somewhere? I looked for a manual but no luck.
thanks again!!

Yes, you have to remove the inner door panel. You also have to remove the knob on the door latch handle (the holding screw is accessible from the bottom).
