Originally, my washer stopped agitating, so I replaced the motor coupling (which the old one looked fine to me, maybe just a little worn). I also replaced the drain hose after I saw that there was a hole in the old one. When I pulled the hose off the pump, I did get water on the motor b/c I still had it laying on the floor. I had to really bang on the motor and transmission to get the new coupling on. Now, the washer is working fine, but it bangs and on agitation I get a burning smell, maybe like burning oil. The front bottom of the washer seemed to get kind of warm, but I’ve never felt it before, so I’m not sure if it usually would or not. But, now I’m wondering what might be wrong, and is it safe to wash clothes before I dig in and try to fix it again? Thanks!
