Hi - Water came out of the bottom on our Fridgaire GLWS1349AS1 washer last night. I cleaned the water up and spun the clothes dry on another cycle. My son tonight opened the front part of the machine. It Looked like everything was tightened. We put on a cycle to wash 2 towels. As the machine was agitating, we smelled an order like strong burning rubber with smoke coming out of the bottom of the machine. We quickly stopped the machine and put it to letting the water drain. Water seemed like it was coming over the top of inside washer and it than began leaking water under the bottom of the machine.
Does anyone know if this 6 year old machine is worth fixing or is it time to buy a new one? Are there 2 different problems happening at the same time? Will my son be able to fix it on his own? I mean if I get a serviceman - would it be cheaper to buy a new washer?
