Can I fix this?

I had to move my washer to clean some water up and I tipped it a little to get it out of the holding pan. Now when I run the washer, after it fills with water and begins to spin, it makes a very loud scrapping sound. I think that maybe the tubs are out of alignment. Can I fix this? If not, can it be repaired, and for how much?

[SIZE=3]One of two thing happened. The motor bracket can be hung on what used to be the shipping brace. If this is the case all you have to do is reach in an lift the tub up by hand then let it go and if you got it un-hung the tub will free float (if not try again). [/SIZE]

thank you for your advice. I took the front off and can see where the noise it definitely coming from. When the tub fills with water, it is lowering enough so that the metal brackets are scraping the bottom of the washer. It looks like the suspension brackets are all attached. Are the suspension brackets the likely problem?

[SIZE=3]This seems like a problem with the newer models but when I look it up it comes up as an older model. Look at this page and tell me if the motor looks like the one pictured and if so read the section on sagging apron. [/SIZE]

No, the motor only has one set of wires going into it. The washer is about 5 years old.

I have never seen this probem on these models. The suspension rods may be weak but i just can’t say for sure. Make sure nothing is bent causing the tub to han down lower.

Hope this helps. Check the frame or trim piece that holds the suspension rods. It may have suffered from continuous over load. You will have to take it out and sraightened with a hammer. The later model GE like WBSR 3100 series has a half trim and the frame cannot take the super load size too long. Good luck.

Front loader will fill. We hear the door latch engage and disengage. Lock and unlock displays as it should. The door is locked and machine fills with water but it will not agitate or spin in any of the cycles. The clock counts down in all cycles. At the end of each cycle the pump does pump out but there is no agitation or spinning. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

[SIZE=3]First make sure the belt is still intact and there is nothing mechanically bad as in the tub spins freely. If there isn’t anything mechanically bad you will need to enter the service mode to view the error codes. The error codes will give you a starting point as to what the problem may be. I have a whirlpool washer newer, with an agitator post, top load. It all works fine except it won’t spin. It will agitate on gentle but not on heavy. Does this sound like a capacitor problem or a control board problem? I did the tests on the manual diagnotic instructions to find out exactly what it would and wouldn’t do. I have already replaced the shift actuator. Also it won’t do the reset calibration, it lights up and starts for a second then shuts down. Any ideas? Thanks, Mary Wells
