I have a Kenmore 253.16082108 model freezer. I posted the question below last week but have since asked another question for which i haven’t seen a reply to. I think i see the "thermistor" wire under the chest, but it appears the wire goes up a small tube under the unit. How do I access the end of this wire if it appears to be going up the left side wall of the chest. There doesnt appear to be any panel to remove to expose the end going into the chest. Or am i looking at the wrong part and this "thermistor" is part of the wiring harness that goes from the main control board into the top cover?
Thank you

I put a thermometer inside and it reflects the temperature I set the freezer to, but the display shows a different temperature and takes a day just to drop 1 degree if I place items in the freezer. I’m thinking I need either the "user control & display board" or the "main control board" but I’m not sure which part will resolve my issue. The temp inside the unit is -3 (what I actually set it to), yet the display temp is 17. We put a few items in the freezer the other day and it later showed a temp of 24 and the alarm went off. It has taken 3 days to get to 17, yet the thermometer I placed inside reflects my setting of -3. I have only seen the display reflect my setting once since I defrosted the freezer. Thank you for your assistance
Answer Hello Vince. It sounds like The sensor [URL="http://www.appliancepartspros.com/frigidaire-thermistor-297018401-ap3780942.html) seems to be reading the temp incorrectly. You may need to replace the thermistor.
