Yup, seems like I may have a bad start kit or overload part. I’m not the best at fixing things but it does seem very straight forward to replace.
What happens is I’ll hear a click, then it sounds like a hum noise for just a few seconds then another click. All the clicking is coming from the plastic box hanging off the compressor side. The fan does run, as it runs soon as I power the fridge up. Never had a problem until now. For the experts, does this sound like a start/relay/overload protection issue? Times are tough and I really can’t afford a new fridge. I’d rather buy the parts hoping they will turn the compressor back on. Also the compressor is very hot when you touch it. Thank you.
The posts coming out of the compressor were clean. No metal or anything melted on them. The parts will be here later today. I took pictures of the parts before I took the wires off. So I’ll put them back just the way they were. I can’t wait to install them and give it a try!
I purchased a front load set. The washer works fine. But the dryer will not start. Checked thermal cutoff, it’s closed. Also hotwired it. Still nothing. Heating element comes on. But drum will not spin. No humming no clicking no nothing. Belt is fine. Door switch seems to work ok…the drum light goes on and off when opening and closing door.
I am thinking it is the motor…but I am making damn sure it is before I spend over a hundred dollars. Is there ANYTHING else it could be? And how could I test it?
