My Maytag side by wide has relay on compressor clicking on and off but compressor is not running. Cooling fan is constantly running. Temp in frige and freezer rising have both controls turned all the way up. (this problem just started about three hours ago) How do I determine if its relays or compressor problem? From what I see in diagram there are two relay capacitors mounted on one another on side of compressor. I’m wondering if I’m better off just buying a new reefer/freezer rather than replacing parts and wasting time. Help…Senior Citizen! UPDATE 1:15AM. When relay clicks compressor does come on for about 20 seconds. Compressor is hot but I can keep my hand on it without pain. So I don’t know what is considered a too hot compressor.UPDATE. RELAY CLICKED IN 9:30 am AND compressor started. Problem is now it doesn’t stop ( 12 hours) Freezer reads 0 reefer reads 30 degrees. I also notice warm feeling on left side front edge by door seal of freezer. Is this a defroster problem? Is this a compressor stuck relay problem? SHOULD I GIVE UP THE GHOST WITH THIS REEFER? The acual age of this unit is five years one month. Help would be appreciated.
