cold spot won't stop running and fan squeals

After returning from vacation I found my cold spot fridge with cooling problems inboth top freezer, lower refrigerator area, and it would not stop running. After removing the top freezer liner panels,I found the cooling condenser fins were a solid block of frost and ice. After defrosting the freezer it cooled downjust fine but the refrigerator would not stop running. You can turn in on or off with the tempcontrol switch inside the lower refrigerator area. It seems the defrost unit is still workingbut the freezer does not seem to cool down enough however that may be due to myshutting it off too soon. After about 10minutes of running a fan squeal is heard. Sounds like a fan shaft spinning inside a plastic fan blade assembly butI have not checked it visually. Thesound seems to come and go every 2-3 seconds. Does not seem to be coming from the lower compressor but up top in thefan that is circulating the freezer air flow.

First thought was the thermostat or the defrost timer andfan motor may be the problems. If you runit manually for a day or two it seems to be defrosting but I question if thedefrost unit is cutting off completely as the freezer only cools down to about30 degrees. That may be due to my notrunning it long enough due to the fan noise that starts after about 10 minutesof running time. Thought maybe the thermostatwent out causing the fridge to run constantly and ice up neutralizing thedefrost cycle and after the condenser fins completely iced up not enough aircirculate through them to cool the fridge. Now I have the constant running and question if it is cooling correctly maybe due to a temperature sensor problem. The compressor and cooling fan seem to be fine.

What are my problems, how do I check or confirm, and whatare the proper names and part numbers to order? Thanks for the help.
