I reciently had to replace the compressor fan as it was intermittently running on my Amana side by side. All was well for about two days, then the thing made a loud screechy and rattling noise and now neither the evaporator fan (interior) nor compressor will run. (The compressor fan now still runs fine).
If I unplug the unit for a couple of minutes, plug it back in and the compressor fan runs immediately. After about 30 seconds, there is a click, but the compressor does not start. Compressor fan continues to blow room temperature (cool) air.
Is this likely the relay? The overload? or the Compressor itself. My only hope is that since the evaporator fan is also not working that somehow the compressor is still okay?
Refrigeration dummy - any help greatly appericated.
