I know it might help if I gave the model number, but I can’t get it out of the window myself.
Anyway, in general this is a frigidair room ac, about 3 years old, about 24000 btus.It has electronic controls. It worked ok last summer, but now when I first turn it on to cool. The compressor comes on like normal. Then after it kicks off the first time, it doesn’t matter where I put the thermostat at. the compressor doesn’t kick in again for a half hour, Then it runs for 5 mins and kicks back out. Then I have to wait another half hour for it go kick back in.
It’s supposed to have a full function remote, which all the buttons work, but it doesn’t solve my problem, I still have to wait a half hour.
Any general ideas or if it’s a thermostat problem is there any way to bypass it’ . It’s going to get pretty hot down here pretty quick and I can’t really afford another unit or repair man.
