First off, I know I know, model number is important. I will update my post with this information when I am back home this evening, but for now I am just happy that I finally am remembering to post this question!
For a few months now, our dryer has been continuing to buzz after the cycle ends. In researching this issue I was able to find a number of others who had similar issues, but not exactly the same.
When the cycle ends, the buzzer goes off as normal at full volume, but then it continues to buzz slightly quieter for about an hour, or until the dryer door is opened. However, unlike most other cases that I was able to find, we can immediately close our dryer door again and the buzzing will not resume. The dryer will also not resume tumbling (unless the cycle had not finished), as others said theirs did.
I am no expert with dryers, but I am thoroughly perplexed, as opening and closing the door shuts off the buzzing, and waiting ~1 hour also does. I keep trying to time the amount of time that elapses between the end of the cycle and the buzzer stopping to see if it is always the exact same amount of time, but I have yet to remember to do this.
Could this be something to do with the timer, given that it eventually does stop on its own, just not at the right time (when the cycle ends)?
Again, I will update this posting this evening with the model number, but I thought I would take a shot into the dark in case this isn’t a model-specific question.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Ben
Update I’m not sure if this matters or not, but we have only been using the moisture-sensor setting on the dryer, not a timed-dry. Thought I would mention that in case it helps diagnose if it is a timer issue, etc.
