cooktop problems

I have a kitchenaid electric oven/cooktop. The top front two burners have stopped working. Because it is two burners that have stopped working I am led to believe it is not an element failure but a fuse. Is there a fuse that serves these electric burner elements located in the oven.

Thank You,

Chuck

Hi.

It may help in the research , if I would have the complete model number.

Thank you.

Simon,

The Model is a ARCHITECT SERIES II KERS205.

Thank You,

Chuck

Hi.

There is no fuse. You will have to raise the top and using multimeter check if there is 230VAC at the elements. Be careful with life test.
Turn the power off and drop down elements, so you can visually check them for burns.
If everything checks OK and there is no 230v to the elements - replace the burner switches.
Please provide COMPLETE model number for the correct parts.

Thank you.

Simon.

Thanks for your help.
How do I raise the top? Are there any screw to unfasten to allow this? do I have to pull the oven away from the wall to raise the top? I’m trying to avoid moving the oven.
Don’t worry, I’m an ex electrician and I’ll be careful testing the feeds to the elements with a fluke meter.
Thanks again.

Hi.

Look from the front under the top. Should be two screws one on each side. Remove them and lift the top.
