I have purchased 2 new oven igniters for my GE oven in the past 3 months.
The first one gave me intermittant use of the oven…anywhere from 3 to 10 minutes to ignite.
The one I just installed will not work at all.
So I purchased a new safety gas valve thinking that the igniter was new so maybe the valve was the problem.
Doesn’t work.
Now I don’t have a clue.
The electrical diagram show no other parts that are wired to the oven.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the problem and no I don’t have an amp meter.
Its very possible the new ignitor is faulty … They are very fragile and may have gottin bumped or damaged during shipping … Just last week I ordered one for a customer and went to install it and it failed shortly after install … I reordered the ignitor and problem solved
