Detergent dispenser door will not stay closed

I have a Maytag model MDB7759aww diswasher that the soap dispenser door will not stay closed. When soap is put in and the door swung closed it springs open. Moving the latch over manuelly doesnt help. I took it apart, cleaned the gasket, checked the latch to be sure its free, it is, and put it back in. No Joy. So… Im thinking the small motor that moves it is stuck, I couldnt check it. Or the plastic is worn to the point it wont engage. Its just over 1 yr old. Any help would be apprecieated.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. Sucks that a 14month old machine needs repair. Maytag should be ashamed.
