I’ve got a Cabrio with bad tub bearings. I bought the bearing kit W10435302 and the new seal appears to be an updated version of the one that is currently in the washer. The new seal has a round spring around one of the lips of the seal where the old one does not so I can’t use the old seal for a reference. So when I install my new seal does the spring go down toward the bearings or point up toward the tub. Thanks for the help
You need to have a service manual and unfortunately Whirlpool will no longer let us link you to one.
I suggest you do a web search and you should be able to purchase and download a manual for a nominal cost. If you have problems with the part talk to APP parts department on Monday.
