dishwasher door

The door on the dishwasher has lost resistance when opened. The door would fall hard if I did not control the weight. Is the spring broke or hydraulic system failed? Is this something I can fix? Any help would be appreciated.

Here are your parts

You are short a couple digits in the model number.

See section 7 for the parts of the door spring mechanism.
Remove the kick plate and take a look.
To repair it you may have to pull the unit forward a foot or so.

I cannot say if you can fix it as it depends on your mechanical ability but is is not that complicated.

I replaced the outer door on my GE Profile model GSD5120D01BB. The new skin was much better quality and heavier gauge metal. Unfortunately, now the door falls heavily unless you guide it down. The springs are both still attached and apparently in good shape. Is there an adjustment or heavier spring available? Thanks in advance. PF

would like to know what causes water to seep in after dishwasher is completely done and not on.

If the water is clean and warm/hot then your water valve is probably not sealing correctly and should be replaced.

I believe the following is the correct valve for your unit.
AP2135535

If the water is soapy/dirty then it could be a problem with the drain hose set-up.
