dishwasher noise

This dishwasher is three weeks old and has made a growling noise from the pump motor area since the second time we used it.It does it about mid way through its wash cycle and continues periodically until the drying cycle.Was told over the phone it was normal.sometimes it gets loud.Doesnt seem normal for a supposedly quiet series dishwasher.
