I have a LG gas dryer that is approx. 1.5 years old that recently began to run without heat. When I start the dryer in any mode (Sensor dry, Manual dry, etc.) the motor runs fine, the blower unit is also good. The exhaust tube and vent hose are all clean and unobstructed.
The Ignitor Unit (#AP4439620) also seems to be functioning fine, it ignites when the cycle starts and continues to ignite in approximate 60-90 second intervals. The problem is the gas will not release and make a flame to start the heating cycle.
I thought it was the Heat Sensor unit (AP4443773) that seemed to be malfunctioning as it would not activate the the Gas Burner Assembly Unit (AP4457614) to initiate a flame. So I replaced it, The High-Limit Thermostat (AP4457603) and the Thermostat Assembly Unit (AP4445168) were also replaced.
NO LUCK…
So now I need to know HOW would you check the igniter (AP4439620) to make sure it is getting hot enough to light the gas? It glows bright enough to illuminate the interior of the dryer, which certainly "seems" hot enough.
I also believe it could be the Gas Burner Valve Assembly (AP4457614) that could be causing this problem, but do not want to spend $109.00 unless it is absolutely certain that it is the cause of this problem…
Please Advise, Thanks in advance…
