door tension repair

I have a Bosch dishwasher that the door falls hard and i believe the door tensioner has broken and would like to know how to replace it or if it should be left up to a repairman. I do have some mechanical skills but never worked on a dishwasher before. Any and all help is appreciated if you can give some info on what i have to remove to replace they appear to be hard to reach. A diagram would be helpful and havent been able to locate. thanks again Gene
