Dryer Heating but won't Spin

Recently, the dryer has stopped spinning. It still produces heat and noise but not spin. I was told it might be a belt, but not sure exactly what that will require. I am farely handy, is this something I could fix on my own or would I have to call a Professional?

THANK YOU!

This is an easy fix and readily doable for the DIYer.

You need to take the dryer apart. To do this, take out the lint screen and take out the two screws under the lint screen door. Insert a screw driver in the gap between the top and front near the edges and pry up the top. It will flip back. If you do not see a belt, you can order one and replace it.

To do that you can now take off the front by taking out the two screws that hold it on, disconnect the door switch and lift it off the clips. The drum will come out the front, and you can see how the belt goes on from the Sticky at the top of this page. Clean everything out, replace the drum, replace the belt on the pulley and put it back together.

If you are unsure, spend $20 on this repair manual.

Even with its cost and the cost of the belt you are way ahead.
