Our Maytag dryer motor will not start. I checked the belt and that seems fine. I removed the belt and the tumbler turns freely. I can turn the motor shaft freely. When pushing the on switch the motor hums. Is this possibly a starter switch problem?
Thanks for your help. With the price of the motor, We’ll probably be shopping for a new dryer.
Do not buy any fancy computerized model. Look for a simple (knobs & buttons) Whirlpool dryer.
