Dryer not heating properly

My Whirlpool dryer takes several cycles to completely dry clothes. The clothes are warm during the drying cycle but not hot. What do you think? Thanks

Hi,

Check the dryer vent for kinks and lint build up.
Also check the blower housing inside the dryer to make sure it’s lint free.

No kink in connecting hose between dryer and vent. Also, the outside exhaust seems to be venting a good volume of air. Thanks for your help…

You really need to remove the venting and look inside it.
A 4 inch vent pipe could have a inch layer of lint built up in it making it act like a 3 inch vent pipe and you really could not tell by feeling then amount of air coming out with your hand.

Same with the blower housing, you will need to disassemble the dryer and take a look.

Bam! You are right! About an inch buildup of lint in the vent all the way out. Also some buildup inside the dryer. Is there a poor man’s way of cleaning duct? Mine is the hard wall variety. Thanks again! Matt
