Our dryer’s start button does not work. When the timer is set we can hear it clicking, however when we push the button nothing happens, no click, no hum, just nothing.

Your model number does not look complete.
Sears/Kenmore numbers are usually 3 digits, a period and then an additional 8 digits.
Could be that you have blown the thermal fuse.
This is often on the blower assembly.
Unplug the unit and if your unit has a fuse check it with a meter.
If it is blown be sure to check/clean your vent system before replacing it as this is the most common cause of it blowing.
