I Had An Electric Bill Of 240.00 Above The Average And Was Told The Heat Element Was Bad However I Know Dryers Work Off Temp Sensors And The Element Does Not Emmediately Turn On They Wait About 4 To 5 Seconds After The Tub Starts ! So Why Does The Electric Meter Spin Fast When I Turn The Breaker On At The First Input Of Electricity??? Could It Be The Element ??
Check to see if the element is grounded.
Unplug the unit and bot wires from the heater.
Measure the heater, most are in the 8 to 12 ohm range.
Now measure from each side of the heater to it’s case.
Both should be infinite ohms, if not the heater is grounded and should be replaced.
This can cause it to run and the thermostats do not control it.
