The dryer is running fine, but no heat is produced. I checked the heating element and it isn’t glowing, no ignition.
I bypassed the high limit fuses and still no ignition.
I’m suspecting that the heating element has failed, but can anyone tell me if there are other probable causes I should check before I buy a new heating element?
sounds like the glow bar is bad. take the back off start the dryer and look at the bar it should glow red for a few sec then the gas valve will click and you should have a flame.
I checked that and there is no glow, I’m assuming the igniter is bad. Let me know if you think it could be something else, otherwise I’m just going to replace the igniter.
Most likely the problem is a bad thermal fuse (#7).
There are at least five parts in the heating circuit and replacing them one by one just by guessing is very costly. If you would like to fix appliances (electrical problems) yourself you must have a multimeter.
