Dryer switch does not stay on… As soon as you let go it stops working. I have replaced the control switch, part number 3404233, it worked for one day and the same problem came back… is the problem with some place else?
Hi,
Thank you very much for the reply. However, since i am not very handy, can u tell me how hard it is to change the motor? where is the motor in these stackable units?
or can u direct me to a link that would explain the "how to" of changing the motor?
hi,
so i did the test your suggested. When the door switch is taped, and the start button is pressed while turning the drum, the dryer is still as it was before. it starts but as soon as you let go of button it shuts off. i did the test few times, in different order, such as turning the drum and giving it momentum before pressing the start button, but it didn’t change anything in its performance.
I am wondering if the problem could be the main dryer timer switch, AP426348, could it be??
thnx
Moist likely the problem is a bad motor windings. The correction is to replace the motor. The instructions are attached to the reply. If you do not feel comfortable to do this job it might be better to hire a pro to do it for you.
