dryer timer dosen't advance

Timer won’t advance from automatic drying settings. Dryer will heat up just wont shut off. Timer will advance from timed dryer settings just not the automatic settings. any suggestions?

Hi,

Clean and check your vent for kinks.

Also check inside the blower housing for lint build up.

Even if it "feels ok" when you check the vent for air flow with your hand you need to look inside the vent and inside the blower houseing for lint build up.

I just received the Brake Assembly, belts, bearings and the Brake Tool that I ordered from Applicance Parts Pros and have 1/2 taken it appart. I removed the pully and am trying to remove the assembly. I see that it screws in and that I need to use the tool to back it off. I loosened up the screw that holds the small clip aginst the threads, however, it really seems locked in there. I even tapped it with a hammer. Am I missing something? Do I need to remove the center shaft first?

Thanks,

You really need a service manual to do this job, and the brake spring is under 200lbs of pressue and can be dangerous so I strongly recommend you do not proceed until you get one.

Unfortunately Maytag will not allow access to its manuals anymore, so I suggest you contact them or search the net. If all else fails it appears you can buy the manual for a small fee from this link.
